GMC Sierra 3500 Review

Big loads require big trucks, this is a simple fact, and the 2008 GMC Sierra 3500 is the truck to pull those big loads. The 1500 and 2500 are great trucks, but the 3500 offers stiffer suspension, more power, and dual rear wheel options, the kind of stuff a serious truck person needs. This is the kind of machine you would expect to see at a construction site or used for hauling a big load. Quite frankly, it does all of this very well. A new generation of 3500 became available in 07' and is still the iteration of choice in 08'. The truck is available in regular, extended or crew cab, as with other Sierra models, and the SL SLE and SLT trim levels offer different levels of style for different costs. Under the hood the 3500 comes standard with a 6.0 liter V8 that produces 300 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. Optionally, you can get a 8.1 gasoline V8 that puts out 340 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, or a 6.6 liter turbodiesel which puts out 360 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. The standard engine comes standard with a five speed manual transmission, while the two options come with either six speed manual or five speed automatic.
