GMC Sierra 2500 Review

GMC's Sierra line is it's current entry into the fullsize pickup landscape. The 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 is the mid level pickup in this line. The 1500 is a pickup designed for the family, or for someone who doesn't have overly heavy loads to haul. In other words, it's the perfect truck for a consumer who wants a fullsize pickup, but may not need it for work or to pull anything too huge. The 2500 is the truck for these jobs. It's a Sierra, and the current iteration of this line is great, balancing power and performance that has always been a staple of GMC's fullsize lineup, but also offering enhanced interior, so that you can ride in comfort and class, something that had been missing from past Sierras. As with the 1500 and 3500, the 2500 is available in regular, extended or crew cab, and there is also a long or short wheelbase option. The drivetrain is available in rear or four wheel drive. As with other fullsize trucks, the Sierra comes in a variety of trims, which sport different levels of luxury. Standard on all Sierras is a 6.0 liter V8 that puts out 353 horsepower and 373 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with a six speed automatic transmission. There is also a 6.6 liter turbodiesel V8 putting out 365 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque with 6 speed man.
