GMC Canyon Review
Midsize and compact pickups are an important entry in the pickup truck set of vehicles. Not all consumers need the power of a fullsize truck to pull or haul their loads. Plus, with gas more expensive then ever, if you must have a pickup, it might be best to go with something a little smaller than the big guys. The 2008 GMC Canyon is GMC's entry to the world of small-midsize pickups. It's a great looking truck, with a square front and broad design, it will impress any truck enthusiast. Another plus is the vast number of suspension options, that can give you an off-road monster, or a sporty street trucker. You can get the Canyon in Standard, Extended or Crew cab, so it covers all of it's bases there. The bed measures 5-foot on the crew cab and 6-foot on the other cab configurations. You have two engine choices on the Canyon, a 2.9 liter, four cylinder, putting out 185 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, which is standard on all configurations except the four wheel drive crew cab. The other option is a 3.7 liter, five cylinder engine, putting out 242 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of torque. Four speed automatic and five speed manual transmissions are both available. The truck is available in 2WD and 4WD.
