Ford E-Series Van Review
The full size van is something of a niche vehicle. Usually only used by businesses and other special needs consumers, it isn't the kind of vehicle you would by to take the family to the park. However if you are in the market for a van, Ford offers their F-150 E-series van. Quite frankly, the E-series is not the most impressive piece of machinery that Ford puts out. Aesthetically it looks like a brick, with a somewhat unappealing exterior, with a blocky grille and little styling. But if you are looking for a van, aesthetics are probably the last thing on your mind. There are six trims available, from a E150 to an E-350 super duty extended. The van is a three door, five passenger vehicle, and it is definitely a spartan machine. The standard engine is a 4.6-liter V8 putting out 225 horsepower, this engine gets 15-mpg city and 19-mpg highway. The transmission is a four speed automatic. The problems with the van lie mainly in appearance and comfort, though it is not the most high performance piece of machinery in Ford's lineup either. Ultimately it is a decent value, but nothing to write home about, coming in at $24,000-$29,000.
