Dodge Dakota Review

The Dodge Dakota is Dodge's mid-size pickup. The truck's history dates back to the 1980s, where it was the first of it's kind to be released. Rather than dropping into the compact pickup market, Dodge opted to create an entirely new class of pickup, and they ended up with the excellent Dodge Dakota. The interior is nice, however it does sport plenty of low quality plastic. Whether you go with the crew cab or the extended cab, you will have plenty of room for the driver and passenger, but the crew cab is the way to go if you are carrying a family. Bed space can be a problem on the crew cab, only sporting a 5-foot, 4-inch bed, small for this class. The club cab, however, has a 6-foot, 6-inch bed, much more suitable. Performance wise you are looking at a choice between 2 wheel drive, part time 4 wheel drive, or full time 4 wheel drive on high end models. The engine choices are a 210 horsepower 3.7-liter V6 or a 302-hp 4.7-liter V8. The V6 gets better fuel economy while the V8 puts out much more kick. At any rate, the Dakota is the king of the Mid-size pickup.
