Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Review

The Silverado is the workhorse of Chevy's truck lineup, and the 3500 is the beast of the Silverado line. The 3500 is the truck you need to haul the biggest loads the longest distances. It trades style for power, aesthetics for functionality. As with other Silverados, the 3500 is available in regular, extended, and crew cab, as well as with a 2WD or 4WD drivetrain. Regardless, there are three engine options on the 3500, a 6 liter V8 putting out 300 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque, an 8.1 liter gas V8 putting out 340 HP and 455 lb-torque, and finally a 6.6 liter turbodiesel that puts out 360 HP and 650 lb-feet of torque. The transmission that comes standard with the truck is a 5 speed manual, but a 4 speed automatic is available as an option. The truck's flaws lie mainly in it's interior, which is not as nice as the interior in the 2500 and 1500, but this is understandable due to the increased power of the pickup. The engine is also not made of the best parts, but this is a minor flaw. You can find the 3500 for as little as $15,000 used and $26,000 new.
